“Solving the moral issues of a theoretical war torn society, figuring out how to push over a forty foot tall walking tank to free the rebellion from an oppressive siege, eating a magic rock so that no one could take it from me, deciding how to proceed when you have a efficiency obsessed captive who tried to attack you, but every factor you learn about the situation brings the complexity of humanity out of the fog, learning how to interact with people and communicate your ideas effectively, and creating stories of foolish moments, Melody, or great triumphs to be reminisced about with your fellow goblins, have been some of my favorite memories in the last few years.
-A Current Player who clearly has unresolved issues with Melody
“I have really enjoyed getting to weave stories and gain communication skills in an environment of cool people. Analyzing situations and solving theoretical dilemmas has made me far more critical and methodical with the way I approach tasks, and gaining such skills from vast adventures with my fellow goblins is a great experience. The collaborative efforts with other players as well as the grand moments you get for your own ideas, are things that have made me very happy, as getting to see the fruits of your and others labor is an inspiring, and human, fulfillment. The goblins playing alongside me are some of the coolest people that I have had the pleasure of meeting and have created a vibrant world and learning domain. I have relished in getting to absorb tons of new information and lines of thought from the awesome people within the groups. I am very excited to have more people for the moments when two players ask if a window is a door while we chase after a creature affectionately named ‘Party Boi’ with a muscular fish named Geraldine.”

“The GM might like torturing us with moral problems and heartbreaking backstories, but there’s no other way I’d rather spend my Sunday morning and afternoon” -A Current Player
“The past however long I have been playing the various table top role playing (more like digital top now) games with the fellow goblins have been some of the most chaotic, memorable, heart wrenching, and frankly indescribable moments. Interacting with this amazing community in and out of sessions has taught me valuable skills such as improvisation, collaboration, compromisation, debate, public speaking, and even math, I kid you not. Whether our characters are falling down a waterfall just sitting on a log, deciding whether to tell an npc that we’ve know out of game for 6 years that they’re part android, discovering the various ways someone can utilize 50cent ramen for everyday predicaments, solving puzzles while mapping out a dungeon, debating logistical problems (such as hiding an important magical item in a bush that absolutely no one would check or if an opening from a hallway to a large room counted as an entryway) or strategizing on the best way to save the whole world. I physically cannot express how much I recommend joining this community to anyone, plus, more goblins will always improve the various shenanigans always happening”
-A Current Player
“If you join, you can’t leave. Also, don’t miss a session or your “teammates” will lose your talisman (basically a pokeball but for you) not once, but twice, Eclipse and Melody”
-A Current Player that also unresolved issues with Melody
I joined MDV 3 years ago looking for a dnd playgroup, and I found a family

Goblins, we are gathered here today to celebrate a program that has cultivated us all. I have been involved in these programs long enough to grow up. Mr. Adam helped me learn to write English essays in middle school and wrote half of my letters of recommendation for college. I’ve changed a lot over the course of these programs, learning how to communicate, making lifelong friends, making such wonderful stories. One of the most emotional experiences of my recent memory was at the funeral of my character for seven years. His passing coincided the turning of pages in my own life, and the conclusion of seven years of masterful storytelling. Anyone joining this program is in for a beautiful, wonderful, very emotional ride, where they learn things about their fellow goblins and humanity as a whole. It is no exaggeration to say that these programs have had a significant impact on the person I am today, whether it be helping my friend obtain a silly little guy as a pet, fighting a counteroffensive in a war, or reflecting on the lives the characters have lived after their passing. These stories are epic, soaring, deeply personal, and oftentimes quite absurd, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We goblins salute you, Mr. Adam, and what you have made.
Plus, we pass the Bechdel Test! ;)
