From the Deep

Trapped within

By their sin

The people wait so still

And then begins

The horrid end

The one brought by their will

Through the dark,

And damp, and dull

The people wander from the hull

The skeleton that kept them safe

Just as nearly became their grave

A search for sky and history

Lost. It is now mystery.

And in the dark

And dank, and dull.

Grew a city made of gold.

Its beauty great

And hearthstones warm

The lost ones again had a home

But from the deep a darkness creeps

And none shall ‘scape its wrath

They dig too far and boldly so

To release what was sealed long ago.

This darkness born from folly and pride,

Was fostered from light that long since died

and so will fall

The golden towers tall

When heard by all,

Become the whispers from the wall

From the deep

A darkness seeps

Into the world above

All will weep

And try to keep

A hold on their vain love
